The Bioinformatics Support Group provides bioinformatics consulting and analysis support for a broad range of data-intensive applications in biomedicine, such as gene expression and genotyping microarrays, mass spectrometry and proteomics, automated image analysis, and next generation sequencing (in collaboration with the Biomedical Sequencing Facility)
Services
- Consulting for new projects by interdisciplinary expert group
- Advice on an development of study designs for projects that involve large-scale data analysis: sample size, minimization of batch effects and sampling strategies
- Suggestions for writing and adequate bioinformatic analysis plan and review by interdisciplinary expert group; recommendation on suitable bioinformatic methods and user-friendly software tools
- Advice on and implementation of data normalization, batch effect removal, statistical analysis including multiple testing correction and biological data interpretation
- Hands-on assistance with pilot projects
- Platform for identifying collaboration partners for in-depth analysis and joint grant applications
