Requirement: basic knowledge of statistical methods and statistical computing skills (SAS and R)
Contents: introduction to statistical consulting, regular consulting hours with researchers of the medical university (planning and analysis of medical studies), assistance in statistical analyses of a particular medical research project (data transfer, data quality inspection, analysis, presentation of results to clinical cooperators, interpretation of results, assistance in writing statistical methods and results for publications), final presentation of the research project to fellow students
Objective: gaining experience in applying statistics to medical research problems
Assessment: regular attendance of consulting hours, taking charge of statistical analysis in a research project, documentation of attended consulting hours and working steps in project, final presentation of project
seminar, 2 semester hours
Requirements: doctoral studies, fair knowledge in statistics
Contents: theoretical and/or applied topics in biostatistics
Objective: comprehensive treatise of a complex topic using contemporary literature
